About the School

For over 50 years the Eileen Eagle School of Dance has been teaching girls and boys of all ages. We have an enviable track record, with 100% pass rate in exams. Our Ballet classes are taught following the Cecchetti method and all other classes follow the relevent ISTD syllabus. Many students past and present have also secured places at Cecchetti and Royal Ballet Associate classes, and gone on to have successful dancing and performing arts careers.

Classes are held Monday-Friday evenings and during the day on Saturdays at The Gordon Hall, Brook Road, Bitterne, Southampton SO18 6AZ. A handy map can be found in our contact section.

The School is headed up by Miss Eagle, who has been teaching dance students for over 50 years and has a wealth of experience as both a teacher and a professional dancer. All of our teachers are ISTD qualified and hold CRB certificates.

The Cecchetti Method

Enrico Cecchetti was one of the most important influences on modern Classical Ballet and his training methods are still used today by schools and companies the world over.

Dancing in the sun!

Posted on June 30, 2013

The weather was glorious as children from the Eileen Eagle School of Dance performed a number of pieces from their recent Showcase to admiring crowds at the Bitterne CofE School Summer Fun Day this weekend.

Dances included Ballet, National and Modern solos, duets and trios and gave the watching spectators a flavour of the many styles that the School can offer.

As you might expect, dancing outdoors in a school playground can be quite a challenge, but the children carried it of with great enthusiasm and professionalism. Well done to all!
